These Terms of Service govern your use of ChosenFair ("the Service"), operated by Code of the North ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
ChosenFair provides software that enables organizations ("Operators") to run fair, transparent registration draws for programs such as parks, camps, classes, and events. Individuals ("Participants") may enter programs created by Operators through the Service.
Operators are responsible for the programs they create, the accuracy of program information, compliance with applicable laws, and proper handling of participant data. Operators may not use the Service to run draws that violate any applicable law or regulation.
Where a program requires a registration fee, payment is authorized at the time of entry but captured only if the Participant is selected in the draw. Payments for participants not selected are released in full. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Operators receive funds directly through Stripe Connect; ChosenFair does not hold or intermediate participant funds.
Lottery draws use randomness derived from the NIST Randomness Beacon, a U.S. government source. Results are independently verifiable. ChosenFair does not manipulate draw outcomes.
Participants may opt in to SMS notifications at the time of program entry by checking the SMS consent checkbox on the entry form. For free programs, Participants may also opt in by initiating a text-message registration conversation as described on the program entry page.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of entering a program or receiving any service.
Message types: SMS messages include draw result notifications (whether a Participant was selected or not selected) and conversational registration prompts for free programs.
Message frequency: Participants receive at most one draw-result notification per program entered. Conversational registration flows consist of a short exchange (typically 2–4 messages) to complete registration.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to SMS messages sent or received.
To stop receiving messages: Reply STOP at any time to opt out. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. To re-subscribe, reply START.

Mobile number privacy: We do not sell, share, or rent your mobile phone number to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Phone numbers are used solely to deliver the messages described above.
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, Code of the North is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
